Madeleine’s Light

Madeleine is the artist’s granddaughter, age four in this painting. By the age of six, Madeleine has had five surgeries on both feet. With physical therapy over the years, and finally the right surgeon to fix her feet, Madeleine is walking without difficulty. Throughout the years, Madeleine has been joyful, playful, and often dancing…unstoppable! Here, she twirls around to her “Pamma”, her hand bathed in the light that has sparkled her hair and somehow reached around to reflect on her face, which is in shadow. Madeleine’s Light.
